Hudson County in coordination with the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) and the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) are conducting a Local Concept Development (LCD) study to determine appropriate improvements to JFK (Kennedy) Blvd. from Pavonia Avenue to St. Paul’s Avenue. The project goals are to enhance safety and improve operations for all modes of transportation.
The study will result in identifying a Preliminary Preferred Alternative which is the first step towards gaining federal funds for constructing improvements in future years. The study process ensures taxpayer funds are used cost effectively and environmental and other impacts are addressed.
Current Status: The project has successfully completed the Local Concept Development (LCD) Phase in June of 2022, and is advancing to the Local Preliminary Engineering (LPE) Phase.
